So you’ve got your Welcome Drip live and running but you want to make some changes. How will these changes affect your subscribers that are already in the Welcome Drip sequence and how will it affect new users? We break it down for you below.
Warning: this can be a little confusing.
How the Welcome Campaign actually works:
If you have set your Welcome Drip live, it will only be triggered after you get a new subscriber. Once it is triggered there are basically just a bunch of rules (really they are IF / THEN statements) that tell our system which push in your campaign to send next and when to send it.
Below are some of these rules:
Campaign Subscribers will only proceed through the campaign in a forward direction. They will never receive a message which precedes the previous message that they were sent.
If a message is deleted, any member whose next message was this message may receive the next scheduled message immediately (if the new “send X time after previous message” has now elapsed)
If a message is added, members will only receive that message if they have not received the preceding message. (otherwise they will already be scheduled for a subsequent message, and will never see the new message)
If a message’s “send after” time is adjusted, some campaign members may receive that message immediately, if the new “send X time after previous message” has now elapsed.
Ok got it?... didn't think so. It's fairly confusing so we've tried to outline some actual examples below to help illustrate this a bit better.
Example 1:

Behavior:
Anyone who was scheduled to receive message C, who received B > 1 hour ago will receive message C immediately.
Anyone who was scheduled to receive message C, who received B < 1 hour ago will receive message C at 1 hour after B.
Example 2:

Behavior:
No change to any current Member, all messages will be sent on schedule.
New subscribers will receive their first message 2 hours after sign up

Behavior:
Any member who was scheduled to receive Message A will receive that message immediately.
New subscribers will receive their first message immediately after sign up
